Ah, The City... even in the Berkshires people know what you mean by heading to "the city" for a day - it never ever means Boston. I'd love a hooky day, Bueller style... I haven't done one of these in a long, long time. Art exhibition plus food is the magic combination... in my mind I'd love to see the Frick renovation too and then go back in time and grab a casual sandwich and decadent pastry at Payard Patisserie.
I need to "plan" more hooky days rather than take a day off to run an errand. Last time I did this I went my favorite restaurant that has French bistro style patio where had bread, cheese and a glass of wine then perused a second-hand bookstore for hours. Pure bliss!
Glad to stay out of your way so that it didn't become an Adventure Day (and so you could eat the food you want)!
But I love our Adventure Days too! Though they tend to be expensive vinyl days...

Hey, if you're down here around the city again, maybe we can have a food + art adventure day!
Yeah, in the city or in the Berkshires too, I am down!

That is total bliss! And there's no saying an errand can't be part of a hooky day, but you can always reward yourself for said errand.
