Pet Portraits for LA Animal Shelters

Help LA-area pets, get a custom portrait

Like so many of you, I’m gutted by the impact of the LA wildfires. My heart especially goes out to all the pets and their families who are dealing with unimaginable devastation.

And I want to do what I can to help.

Because one of the ways I show love to animals is by creating custom watercolor pet portraits, I’m putting my money where my mouth (and pen) are.

For every pet portrait commission booked from January 15 through February 28, 2025, I’ll donate the net proceeds to Los Angeles animal shelters and rescues.

That means $100 from each single animal portrait and $175 from each double animal portrait will be donated, split evenly between the following vetted organizations:

• Pasadena Humane

• spcaLA

• Best Friends Animal Society Los Angeles

What do I get with my pet portrait?

Each paw-trait is hand-drawn based on a photo of your choice. The portrait package includes:

• 1 hi-res JPG

• 1 hi-res PNG with transparent background, perfect for putting your pet on a mug, shirt, or sticker

• 1 8x10 unframed watercolor giclee print shipped via USPS Priority Mail

Here’s how a direct donation portrait purchase works:

Simply email me at casey[at]goodfoodstories.com or DM me on Substack with proof of donation — a screenshot, PDF, or other image that includes the following:

• date

• organization

• amount of donation: at least $100 to cover a single portrait or $175 to cover a double portrait, though you are of course welcome to donate more if you have the resources.

I will then send you a custom invoice for the reduced amount to cover my printing, shipping, and processing fees.
