It's A Good Time Friday! - April 4, 2025
An alternate ending to My Best Friend's Wedding!?!, an homage to Space Ghost, and more
Happy April and happy baseball season!
As you read this, I am currently on my way back out to Queens — not to revisit the TWA Hotel, but for the Mets home opener. Would that I could do both!
I’ll just sate my midcentury cravings with a quick visit to the Unisphere and the World’s Fair sites. (Which we’re all familiar with from that great documentary Men in Black.)

First, a reveal!
Based on all of your awesomely interested responses to my recent post on how Human Design has changed me, I’m now offering Human Design Download sessions!
These are short (30-minute) Zoom chats where I’ll give you the most essential parts of your design and how you can work with how you’re wired.
If you’ve looked up your Human Design chart and were like “WTF IDK” or just find the whole thing confusing but intriguing — THIS is what I’m here to help with. I’ll break down what you need to know to get started with understanding YOURSELF through Human Design!
For now, I have a low low introductory rate of $27 for these sessions, but that could change at any given moment. So lock it in if you’re at all curious!
Now, let’s get to the good times:
➡️ Dia has dropped a new video! This one’s about a Max Neuhaus sound installation in Times Square called, well, “Times Square,” that I had no idea even existed. The original 1977 installation was re-installed in 2002, which means I’ve been walking over it for quite some time! Though not when I visited that intersection (Broadway between 45th and 46th) to be part of the LIVE STUDIO AUDIENCE on TRL in 2000.
➡️ Speaking of New York City… if you worked in media or consumed a good deal of pop culture media in the Aughts, you’re probably familiar with Kim Hastreiter and PAPER Magazine. But even if this is new news to you, it’s worth a (long) scroll through this Curbed list of stuff saved over the years.
It. has. everything! Jackie O’s phone number! A ceramic peanut collection! Gucci toothpaste! The greatest coffee mug from Fishs Eddy that I also own! Seriously, this is a wild collection.
➡️ I did not know until last week that there was an alternate original ending filmed for My Best Friend’s Wedding that featured John Corbett swooping in to dance with Julia Roberts instead of Rupert Everett! Hard agree that this would not have played as well.
This nugget came from The Cut’s list of 27 Rom-Coms to Watch Now, and I’m sorry to report that The Cut does not offer gift links so you might not be able to see all of their recommendations. But there are some new-to-me films on this list that I’m ready to cue up and watch under a blanket with cats ASAP.
➡️ Finally, this homage to George Lowe, who voiced Space Ghost in the most wonderfully surrealist late-night cartoon show ever produced, gave me a million giggles. To know me deeply is to know how much I adore Space Ghost, even if you might not understand the non sequiturs
This sent me down a rabbit hole of old “Space Ghost Coast to Coast” episodes, all of which are available on Adult Swim until this fall. Got 20 minutes? Watch “Bobcat” and “Edelweiss” and be amused.
Many tabs were opened and enjoyed in the reading of this newsletter! And I highly highly suggest that anyone even slightly curious about Human Design have Casey demystify and explain a few things over Zoom. We did this a few weeks ago and I can't stop thinking about it... so illuminating!
I lived across the street from this park when I was first born and the unisphere/towers are my earliest memories.
